REC Solar, a provider of solar electric systems, is partnering with GE Energy Industrial Solutions to distribute the GE WattStation electric vehicle (EV) charger.
GE's WattStation is a Level 2 charger designed to decrease the time needed for charging – delivering a full charge in four to eight hours, compared with standard overnight charging that can take as much as 12 to 14 hours. The technology was also designed to help utilities manage the impact of EVs on local and regional power grids.
As a distributor of the WattStation, REC Solar will focus on driving adoption of charging infrastructure among commercial, government and residential customers, in tandem with the installation of solar power systems.
