AFS Hosting Events to Promote Georgia CNG/LNG Tax Credits

Atlanta-based American Fueling Systems (AFS) has announced it will be hosting a series of ‘Power to Save’ events to promote how fleet operators can take advantage of upcoming Georgia incentives to help switch to natural gas.

Although Georgia lawmakers recently passed a bill to eliminate major incentive programs for zero- and low-emission vehicles, some new alternative fuel vehicle tax credits will soon be made available under H.B.348, which became law last year.

H.B.348 takes effect in July and will provide $12,000 to $20,000 per vehicle in tax credits for fleet owners converting medium- and heavy-duty vehicles to operate on natural gas and other alternative fuels.

AFS will host six two-hour events beginning on April 17 and running through July 26 at its headquarters in Dunwoody, Ga. Speakers from the Department of Natural Resources will discuss the application process, and sponsors include Agility Fuel Systems, GAIN Clean Fuel, Gas South, Penske and W.W. Williams. Â

Pre-registration for the events is required, and more information can be found here.
