CP Industries (CPI), a Pennsylvania-based manufacturer of high-pressure vessels for alternative fuel storage, industrial gas, offshore and defense applications, has announced that it is expanding its line of high-performance, all-carbon Type 4 tanks manufactured to NGV2.
Ideal for public transit, refuse and Class 8 trucks, the tanks are available with diameters ranging from 16.3 inches to 25.3 inches and lengths from 60 inches to 120 inches.
CPI says stock inventories are available now, and custom tank diameters and lengths are available on an inquiry basis.
According to the company, this new all-carbon design offers tremendous weight savings of more than 20% versus the company’s hybrid cylinder design. With a balance between weight and durability, these cylinders feature a proprietary stainless steel boss and seamless liner, as well as high-strength carbon-fiber and end caps for protection against abrasion. CPI asserts that this new design has been proven to be one of the highest-performance cylinders on the market today.
Additionally, EKC, parent company of CPI, manufactures Type 1 NGV2 tanks for onboard vehicle applications. CPI adds that it is the only company that offers Type 1 and Type 4 tanks and will bundle orders for customers interested in both.
