Clean Energy Fuels Corp., along with representatives from Clean Energy, Dillon Transport, JRayl Transport and Silver Eagle Distributors, joined together this week to celebrate the opening of its newest compressed natural gas (CNG) station, located within the Houston Valero station at 9221 Wallisville Rd. in Houston.
According to Clean Energy, the new fast-fill CNG station, which is open to the public 24/7, will support the fueling needs of over 100 heavy-duty trucks and a variety of other natural gas vehicles. The station is now the 65th Clean Energy natural gas station located in Texas, and it’s one of the over 550 stations spread across the U.S. and Canada.
“This station is key to our commitment to sustainability and the environment,” says Jeff Dillon, president of Dillon Transport. “Our ability to utilize this station, along with Clean Energy’s entire network of stations, allows us the opportunity to grow as our customers demand cleaner transportation solutions.”
According to Dillon Transport, over half of its annual fuel consumption is natural gas.
“We were an early adopter of natural gas and will continue to grow our use of natural gas as the fueling network expands,” says Ed Prichard, vice president of transportation for Silver Eagle Distributors, the second-largest beer distributor in the nation. “The stability of the lower prices and cleaner attributes make it a no-brainer to continue to make the switch and utilize Clean Energy’s expanding network of stations.”
