Mack Trucks subsidiary Mack Defense, part of the Volvo Group, has been awarded a contract from the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) to supply Mack heavy-duty trucks, including those that run on natural gas.
As part of the indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract, Mack Defense will supply Mack Pinnacle, Mack Granite and Mack TerraPro models for the government agency from now until the initial contract ends on Oct. 31. GSA has the option to extend the contract for an additional year through Oct. 31, 2016.
Mack offers the natural gas-powered Pinnacle highway model, which runs on either compressed natural gas (CNG) or liquefied natural gas (LNG).
“We look forward to working with the GSA to fulfill our contract with natural gas-powered and diesel-powered Mack vehicles,” says Ryan Werling, president of Mack Defense. “Mack is known for its products, all of which are built in the USA, and we are excited to offer natural gas-powered solutions for our government customers looking for alternative-fuel vehicles.”
