Love’s Taking Travel-Stop CNG to the Midwest

Love's Travel Stops says it is planning to add fast-fill compressed natural gas (CNG) refueling capability for heavy-duty trucks and a CNG dispenser for light-duty vehicles at its existing location off exit 204 on Interstate 71, in Burbank, Ohio.

The company has made a significant commitment to developing CNG refueling capacity at a number of sites in Texas and Oklahoma, but the Burbank facility will be the first Love's Travel Stop in the Midwest to offer natural gas. A partnership with heavy-duty carrier Dillon Transport, which is shifting many of its Class 8 tractors to run on natural gas, was a main driver in Love's decision to bring CNG to Burbank.

‘Our fleet will operate 20 Peterbilt trucks paired with an Agility fuel system that will give us 500 miles of range,’ said Charles Musgrove, vice president of Dillon Transport. ‘We are planning for these trucks to run about 3 million miles per year and fuel at the Burbank Love's location.’

‘We are excited to work with Dillon Transport to bring CNG to a new market with Love's integrated in-lane solution designed for the over-the-road fleet,’ adds Bill Cashmareck, general manager of natural gas at Love's.

Love's is expected to open CNG fueling in Burbank this summer.
