Waste Pro Working With Clean Energy Fuels To Initiate CNG Fueling Network

Waste Pro USA has selected Clean Energy Fuels Corp. to construct a new private time-fill compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling station on Waste Pro property in Fort Pierce, Fla.

Waste Pro, a major solid-waste collection and disposal company that operates in the Southeastern U.S., is beginning to transition some of its heavy-duty refuse-truck fleet from diesel to CNG. The company will invest $100 million in natural gas vehicles and the associated fueling infrastructure, much of which Clean Energy is anticipated to build throughout the South.

Clean Energy has secured permits for the Fort Pierce project, and the company says the site will likely be open early in the third quarter.

For its part, Waste Pro is targeting an initial deployment of 150 CNG-powered collection and recycling trucks to serve residential and commercial customers. The company manages a fleet of more than 1,400 trucks.
