The American Public Gas Association (APGA) and NGVAmerica are the presenting sponsors of the “CNG from Sea to Shining Sea Road Rally” set to leave Long Beach, Calif., at the end of May.

According to the APGA, the mission of this rally is to inform and educate the American public on the benefits of natural gas vehicles (NGVs) and the natural gas fueling infrastructure through all local, state and national media outlets. The organizers of this rally aim to prove that NGVs can travel across the nation and that there are adequate refueling stations to make this trip a reality.

Organized by Pat Riley, general manager of Gibson County Tennessee Utility District, the rally will start in Long Beach, Calif., and end in Washington, D.C. The rally will take place from May 30 to June 10 of this year, with rally participants making 13 stops along the way, including in Mesa, Ariz.; Albuquerque, N.M.; Oklahoma City; Little Rock, Ark.; Memphis, Tenn.; Trenton, Tenn.; Dickson, Tenn.; Sevierville, Tenn.; Rock Hill, S.C.; Greenville, N.C.; Richmond, Va.; and Washington, D.C.

Those interested in sponsoring the “CNG from Sea to Shining Sea Road Rally” should contact Sheila Deringis at the APGA at sderingis@apga.org. For more information, contact Pat Riley at pat@gcud.net.
