Volvo, GM Among Firms Discussing Telematics’ Role In Fleet Fuel Efficiency

0

Volvo Trucks and General Motors have joined the lineup of the Telematics for Fleet Management USA 2012 Conference and Exhibition, which is convening next month in Atlanta.

The companies will focus on how various telematics solutions can help reduce fleets' fuel consumption. Wireless is becoming more prevalent among fleets, with copious data – such as driver behavior and tire pressure – being transferred over 4G networks into telematics solutions. These data-management strategies allow fleets managers to increase fuel efficiency and lower CO2 emissions.

Representatives from the U.S. DOT, Sprint, Donlen, GE Capital, Zurich, Liberty Mutual, Five Star Foods, Hertz and dozens of other companies will also be on hand at the Westin Buckhead on Nov. 13-14.
