Palm Tran Connection, the paratransit division of Palm Beach County’s public transportation system, has received $381,294 from the State of Florida’s Natural Gas Fuel Fleet Vehicle Rebate Program.

Palm Tran Connection purchased 50 new propane-fueled vehicles as part of its new service contract. The Natural Gas Fuel Fleet Vehicle Rebate Program allows for reimbursement of 50% of the cost of the propane upgrade for these vehicles – up to $25,000 per vehicle. The program was signed into law by Florida Gov. Rick Scott in 2013.

The new vehicles have already been in service for one year and are 100% compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
