Natural gas producer Southwestern Energy Co. (SWN) and the City of Conway, Ark., have opened a new compressed natural gas (CNG) refueling station in the city that will serve SWN's fleet of natural gas vehicles, as well as those operated by Conway's municipal fleet.

The price of CNG at the station, which is located near SWN's facilities at 2125 Sanders Rd., is $1.50/GGE, according to local coverage from The Log Cabin Democrat. SWN's station will feature two CNG dispensers, offering sufficient fueling for NGVs of all classes that are running along Interstate 40, which connects metropolitan areas such as Little Rock, Memphis and Nashville.

SWN alone operates more than 200 NGVs in the immediate vicinity surrounding the new station, and organizations such as the Conway Police Department also run some vehicles on natural gas. SWN anticipates fueling demand from the public to rise in the coming months.

Publicly traded SWN is one of the largest natural gas production firms in the U.S., with substantial operations in the Fayetteville Shale and elsewhere.
