Oklahoma State Continues Transition to Compressed Natural Gas

Oklahoma State University (OSU) is converting its fleet of diesel buses to compressed natural gas (CNG) and has been approved to buy a nearby Clean Energy fueling station.

According to an article from The Oklahoman, some of the school's buses have been running on CNG for a number of years – all of the local buses are powered by the alternative fuel.

The university has now placed an order for CNG buses that go between campuses in the state, with the goal of having 100% of the daily buses powered by CNG by July.

The $1.35 million station, which features 24 time-fill and four fast-fill dispensers, will save the university around $2 million over 10 years through the reduced cost of CNG fueling, the report says.
