Clean Energy Fuels Achieves ‘Record Growth’ in CNG Deliveries During Q3

Clean Energy Fuels Corp. says it has reached a new milestone by delivering more than 50 million gallons of compressed natural gas (CNG) in just one quarter.

The company delivered 50.6 million gallons of CNG in the third quarter of the year. Comparatively, Clean Energy's volume of all natural gas fuel delivered during the third quarter of 2013 totaled 56.4 million gallons – and that includes not only CNG, but also liquefied natural gas (LNG) and renewable natural gas.

To continue its growth in CNG sales, the company says, it is acquiring a controlling interest in NG Advantage LLC and will purchase its Milton, Vt., compression station, which Clean Energy says is on track to supply nearly 16 GGEs of CNG annually.

“Our record growth in overall delivered gallons, combined with the new market reach of NG Advantage, positions Clean Energy to keep growing as our trucking business develops,” says Andrew J. Littlefair, president and CEO of Clean Energy.

“NG Advantage's groundbreaking “virtual pipeline' currently brings natural gas to new markets in the Northeast, with the potential of expanding to other areas in North America that do not have direct access to natural gas pipelines,” he adds.

As a result of this partnership, Clean Energy expects a significant increase in delivered CNG volume and forecasts rapid growth as NG Advantage expands with Clean Energy's existing station network and new stations built with compressors from its IMW subsidiary.
