Joint Venture Eyes Second Liquefied Natural Gas Facility

Stabilis Energy and Flint Hills Resources are planning to build the second liquefied natural gas (LNG) production facility in their joint venture – this time, an LNG plant based in Odessa, Texas.

The joint venture – which is already working on a facility in George West, Texas, that is slated to be operational in January – says this new site will be pegged at a capacity of 100,000 gallons of per day, mainly destined to supply high-horsepower oil-field applications in the Permian Basin.

Stabilis Energy has already begun taking orders for LNG supply from the Odessa facility, and production could begin there in 2016. The Odessa LNG liquefaction facility project is subject to receiving final approval from management at both companies.

The joint venture provides turnkey LNG fuel solutions, including LNG production, transportation and logistics, field service, cryogenic equipment rental, and engine conversions.
