Crazy Diamond Performance (CDP), a Detroit-based company that focuses on alternative fuel and performance vehicle technologies, has received approval from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for its mono-fuel compressed natural gas (CNG) Chevrolet Cruze and Chevrolet Sonic.

These new mono-fuel CNG platforms are the first of a series of small and fuel-efficient vehicles coming from CDP, the company says. It will soon be releasing the 1.8- and 1.4-liter Cruze and Sonic retrofit systems, according to Michelle Fern, executive vice president of CDP.

The Cruze and Sonic sedans feature 8.5 GGE fuel capacity for a highway range of nearly 300 miles.
