Sustainable Development Technology Canada, a group funded by the Canadian government to support cleantech technologies and help get them to market, is seeking applications under its SD Tech Fund and SD Natural Gas Fund.

Through the SD Tech Fund, SDTC helps finance various solutions that address the challenges of clean air, soil, water and climate change. One technology sector that receives SD Tech Fund support is next-generation transportation. This includes compressed natural gas and liquefied natural gas infrastructure, electric vehicles, advanced rail applications and other technologies.

The SD Natural Gas Fund, an offshoot of the SD Tech Fund and a collaboration with the Canadian Gas Association, supports the development and demonstration of new downstream natural gas technology. SDTC says that includes more-efficient and lower-emission natural gas engines, alternative natural gas engines and lower-cost solutions for the transportation industry.

The SD Tech Fund and the SD Natural Gas Fund are open for applications until Oct. 14. More information is available here.
